CM-Expert Hydraulic
The CMExpert Hydraulic fluid condition monitoring unit was designed to provide a complete package solution for hydraulic and lubrication system monitoring. The CMExpert Hydraulic combines air bubble suppression with oil condition sensors and multiple communication options in a unit that can be installed with minimal impact on an existing system.
The package can be installed in both low pressure and high pressure systems as the sensors are protected from pressure and flow fluctuations.
System options include use of a HYDAC AquaSensor or HYDAC Lab, LED display on the CS1000 particle counter, CSI-C-11 with 4 x analogue inputs ( level 1 only ). Methods of connectivity span Modbus TCP via Ethernet, local website via Wi-Fi. Additional functionality includes local website and datalogger, remote cloud database and website; and alert notification via Email and SMS (level 2 and 3 only).
Standard Monitored Parameters Include:
- Particle count
- Absolute conductivity value
- Change in electrical conductivity
- Absolute dielectric constant value
- Relative change in dielectric constant value
- Also, saturation level
- And temperature
The 2000 series (Level 2 and Level 3) now offers easy expansion to include additional sensors (Eg. Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Vibration and more… ) using Hy-TTC and optionally with existing sensors in your system using Modbus TCP and CanBus inputs.

FAQs
- CME’s three option levels
The CME has three option levels, with each one having various function upgrades over the others.
- Level 1: CS1000, HLB 1400 or AS1008 and other analogue sensor inputs (customer choice). Local connection.
- Level 2: Level 1 plus many more types and number of sensor inputs including optional Modbus, raw CanBus inputs. It has local website via Wi-Fi, local datalogger, remote cloud database and website; also has alert notification via Email and SMS.
- Level 3: Fully customisable. The electronics box can be sold separately if no hydraulics are involved.
How does the CMExpert unit monitor hydraulic and lubrication systems? To measure the status of hydraulic fluid, the CME combines oil condition sensors such as particle contamination, water saturation, temperature, and electrical conductivity sensors as well as multiple communication options to allow system data monitoring.
The CME has the ability to integrate additional hydraulic or non-hydraulic sensors (eg RPM, position) to allow monitoring of supplementary data points.
Is the installation of the unit onto an existing system onerous? No, the unit can be installed with minimal impact onto an existing system.
Why can the sensors be used in low and high-pressure systems?Sensor protection for pressure and flow fluctuations makes them suitable for both systems.
What system options are available?System options include a HYDAC AquaSensor or HYDAC Lab, LED display on the CS1000 particle counter, and CSI-C-11 with four analogue inputs (all levels have this, with each level building on the previous one). Methods of connectivity span Modbus TCP via Ethernet, local website via Wi-Fi. Additional functionality includes local website and datalogger, remote cloud database and website; and alert notification via Email and SMS (level 2 and 3 only).
What parameters are monitored in the level 1 (base) package? The following parameters are monitored:
- particle count,
- absolute conductivity value,
- change in electrical conductivity,
- absolute dielectric constant value,
- relative change in dielectric constant value,
- saturation level, and
- temperature.
What is the difference between level 1, level 2, and level 3 CMExpert packages?Level 2 includes all of level 1 plus additional features, while level 3 is fully customisable to customer requirements. Level 1 and level 2 are also available off the shelf.
