HYDAC’s Automation, Control and Engineering department has set itself apart through its ability to offer customised solutions based on local software capability to clients in addition to standard services.
According to HYDAC Graduate Electrical Engineer Phillip Gossip, HYDAC is called on time and time again to provide a customised solution.
“The reason for this is because a lot of companies are looking for special purpose machinery to suit their particular application,” Mr Gossip says.
Customised equipment can be very expensive to procure from overseas.
“For example, B&S Hydraulics was modifying a Caterpillar excavator. The scope of the job was to supply screens for the operator, controllers to drive the actuators, and write the HMI and Control Logic software,” Mr Gossip points out.
“It’s here that we really get our foot in the door when we show the customer the depth of our local software capability.
“The customer realises that the necessity of back-and-forth action overseas is avoided once we secure the contract, which of course they want to avoid at all costs.
“HYDAC has shown itself to have a huge advantage here!”
